Tyler's chalk-man

We were doing chalk outlines of the kids the other day out in our driveway with our neighbors.  After we traced around Tyler he proceeded to color his in, to look exactly like himself!  He was wearing a green shirt, blue shorts, and sandals.  He even included the scar on his forehead.  He spent quite a bit of time getting it to look just the way he wanted it.

I couldn't help thinking back to 2-year-old Tyler in "Pee Wee Painting" class at the Brighton Parks and Rec department.  Each child was given a huge sheet of paper.  They were supposed to lay down and be traced, and then every week and the end of class they were supposed to work on it some more, filling in all the details to make it look like them.  Tyler wanted NOTHING to do with this project.  It happened that Steve was at the class where we were supposed to trace the kids (since we had an ultrasound that morning to find out Emma's gender), so between the two of us we could hold him down and get him traced.  I think that was the last time he touched that paper.
